Terms of Service

Last updated: October 24, 2026

1. Service Description

StandIn is an asynchronous collaboration and context handoff system designed for distributed teams. We provide infrastructure to declare, store, and retrieve work context across time zones. StandIn is not a monitoring, surveillance, or analytics tool.

2. User Responsibilities

Users are responsible for the content they publish via Wraps or connected systems of record. StandIn relies on declared information. Accuracy of the system is dependent on the accuracy of user input. If nothing is published, the system is designed to remain silent.

3. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the Service for:

  • Surveillance or tracking of individual employee activity, presence, or working hours.
  • Attempting to infer intent, sentiment, or personal behavior from system data.
  • Ingesting private messages or data from channels not explicitly authorized.
  • Using system outputs for automated performance evaluation or disciplinary action.

4. AI and Automation Boundaries

StandIn utilizes artificial intelligence to summarize and retrieve information. The system is configured to refuse speculation. Responses are strictly limited to the declared record (Wraps, commits, tickets). We do not guarantee that AI outputs are error-free, but we commit to not fabricating context where none exists.

5. Availability and Limitations

We strive for high availability but do not guarantee real-time accuracy or uninterrupted service. StandIn is a tool for continuity, not a replacement for critical real-time incident response systems. We have no obligation to provide answers beyond the published record available to the system.

6. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Service for any user or organization that violates these Terms, specifically regarding the prohibited uses of surveillance and privacy violation. Misuse of the tool to harass or monitor employees is grounds for immediate termination.

7. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which StandIn Inc. is registered, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
